Since I missed some online sessions due to cold, I was very happy to be able to present collaboration of reading performance in this meeting with my best friend Deborah P. Kolodji who was discharged from the hospital recently. I was also very glad to see her fine.

We performed a very unique Tanka & Haiku sequence about PET-CT (positron emission tomography/computed tomography) which both of us experienced at the similar time by coincidence.

With the thoughts and feelings I expressed in my tanka published in TSA Anthology last year in my mind, I performed bilingual reading in Japanese and in English. My thoughts and feelings are still true at the end of this year in which we all endured from Corona virus pandemic for one year.

I am very honored and it was a wonderful surprise for me that the host as well as all the attendants of the meeting appreciated my performance as the prelude for a wonderful artist Ms. Toti O'Brien's reading from her latest publication, which was the feature of the meeting.

I really thank for everyone in the meeting.

This is the hanging scroll of calligraphy written by my late grandfather, Masashi Tanaka 88 years ago. It shows a part of "Hyoya-no-Uta" (or "Hisago-no-Uta") created by Touko Fujita.
My grandfather was a scientist and calligraphy was his hobby. After he passed away, our relatives made it the scroll. The calligraphy was written when he temporarily left the company to his subordinate due to health problem.
I heard that my grandfather was saying he could not write as good as he expected.
I sincerely hope that he allows his granddaughter displays the scroll after all these years.
