Tanka reading performance oveseas.
February 19, 4:00 p.m. PST (Feb. 20 9:00 a.m. JST), I participated in Friday Poetry Meeting presided at by Ms. Kathabela Wilson, and performed Japanese - English bilingual reading of my new Tanka sequence. |
|
Although my sequence was about my honest depressed emotion, I felt that the participants understood my feeling very well, and I was able to have confidence to establish soul to soul communication. Ms. Cynthia Anderson's superior collaboration of images and poems, which was the feature of this meeting, inspired me a lot. |
|
Also, the other participants presented their unique and free-minded works. I believe that it is the broad-mindedness of the organizer that let out all the participants' free expressions. I would like to thank to everyone. |

While Tokyo and the surrounding three municipals re-announced a stage of emergency for Covid-19, these weekly Zoom meetings offer me opportunities to cultivate skills to live bright and face issues with flexibility as artists. I strongly believe and feel very grateful to have such opportunities , where attendants beyond the boundary encourage each other, in this situation. |

I would like to survive this tough time together with the fellow members and the president of the meeting. |

Since I missed some online sessions due to cold, I was very happy to be able to present collaboration of reading performance in this meeting with my best friend Deborah P. Kolodji who was discharged from the hospital recently. I was also very glad to see her fine. We performed a very unique Tanka & Haiku sequence about PET-CT (positron emission tomography/computed tomography) which both of us experienced at the similar time by coincidence. |
