April 26th, I performed bilingual tanka reading in Portland, Oregon. It was my first performance in this city. I would like to extend sincere gratitude toward the Lan Su Chinese Garden for allowing us to use the wonderful venue in the busy season of poetry events. The structure of the room is perfectly harmonized with the flower-filled garden, such as jasmine, paeoniae radix, and irises, and has an excellent audio equipment. The room was filled with so many audience, actually some of them were standing while enjoying our performance! |

An American lady, who heard tanka reading for the first time in her life, told me that she was very much moved to teas and purchased my reading CD. Ms. Margaret Chula, the president of Tanka Society of America, please accept my sincerest thanks for all the efforts you made for this wonderful event come true. |
