Contemprary Tanka Poet Mariko Kitakubo.
お知らせ
In the evening of May 1st, California time, I am going to participate in Zoom Poetry Meeting, which is presided at by Ms. Kathabela Wilson. I and Ms. Deborah P. Kolodji will recite Tanka & Haiku sequence "Distance 2020". I wrote English Tanka, and Ms. Kolodji did English Haiku.
I cannot post this sequence for the time being because it is unpublished work, but I will post it on my website after it is published in the next edition of poetry magazine "Basho". It is a great honor for me that Mr. Clayton Beach, the editor of "Basho" highly praised our sequence.
It will be my first experience to recite in a Zoom meeting, but I would like to do my best to be able to open a new door of my reading activity under the current condition.

Currently, we are facing unexperienced hardship of Coronavirus.
I would like to send my sincere prayers for those who are suffering from tragedy.
While almost all academic and art events being voluntarily canceled, I have decided to make a small step forward in such a way nobody is under threat.
I will send my sincere prayers for all of you. I would be more than happy if it stays with you to help for your comfort.
