At "Tanka Sunday", the last day of HNA event, I performed tanka reading with Ms. Margaret Chula, the president of Tanka Society of America. We selected mainly from Ms. Chula's recently published bilingual anthology, "Just This", for which I worked on translation into Japanese. We also added some other works each of us created recently.

Appeared on "Musasino On-Line", a live broadcast of Musashino FM. Performed reading of my own tanka published in the Feb. Issue of "Tanka Shinbun" of Irino-Sha, the Apr. Issue of "Tanka" of Kadokawa, and the Jun. Issue of "Tanka O-Rai" of Nagarami-Shobo. I really enjoyed the talk with Mr. Tatsuhiko Nishi, the host of the program, just as I did I was in the program twice in the past. Mr. Nishi, thank you very much!

Central Coast, NSW, Peninsula Community Centre. Performed tanka reading for more than 30 students of community college. I was very glad to see the audience showing interest in tanka.
performance_2013_03_26_02.jpg During my visit, I did five reading performance - three sessions in Sydney and two in Adelaide - together with Ms. Beverley George, an Australian tanka poet and my friend living north of Sydney, on the central Coast. It was a busy schedule, but I was happy because many people listened to our reading. Photo on the left and one below, at Hornsby Library.
performance_2013_03_26_03.jpg For our bilingual reading performance, we selected 21 pieces based on the season over there, seven pieces from MANYO-SHU, seven from Ms. Beverley George's work and other seven from my work. *Poems from MANYO-SHU were translated into Englsh by Prof. Hideo Levy of Hosei Univ. I translated Ms. Beverley George's tanka into Japanese, and Ms. Beverley George helped English translation of my tanka.。

At Roseville Wellness Group Unit 3. One of the audience, who saw our performance in the past, liked my performance in total (tone of voice, background music sound, body language such as soft & slow hand movement, and the color of KIMONO) and purchased my tanka reading CD. I was very glad about this because I have been doing this activity to deliver the beauty of Japanese tanka to the world.
